Our riders are always working on improving balance…
on the horse and in life.
At Eagle Feather we have seven sacred principles that guide our riding practice:
-
The Centaur
The Centaur: a being that is half human, half horse. This teaching is about connection; a journey over time where horse and rider become one.
-
Time Well Spent
This teaching is about the importance of horse and rider spending quality time together building their relationship, listening to each other. It’s not just about riding.
-
Teaching
When you know something: teach it. We ALL have something to offer.
Everyone has things they can teach and things they can learn.
-
Sacred Dance
There is a rhythm to everything. Be on the ground in a meaningful way, moving from our hearts. Dance with your horse.
-
Sacred Play
How do you see the world? Spending time with your horse is not about getting a job done. It’s about enjoying time together, in relationship.
-
Balance
Horses are naturally balanced. How balanced are you? Riding bareback requires a great deal of balance. Horses make us want to be better people and find balance in our lives.
-
Sacred Touch
Each time we get the opportunity to touch a horse, it is a sacred act. Our energy and intent send messages to a horse. Physical touch isn’t necessary for that to happen.
This Weeks Reflection Quote:
“Through attuned connection with ourselves, our bodies, and others, we find healing, regulation, and increased capacity for aliveness.”
-Sarah Scholte
